Sheep Incognito Blog

Off We Goooo! The sheep have finally found a voice - a smorgasblog of mutton so-to-speak. So come along for a rather bumpy, slightly whacky and always (well, hopefully) entertaining ride through the realm of sheep. Of course, blogs are the new cafe-connections of the net - drop me a line, share your thoughts, or just be a silent observer. Don't spill the coffee on the sheep though, they shrink ...

Where'd she go?

Posted by Conni Togel in WIPweatherremodelingpaintingspaintingnorth carolinakitchengermanyfriendsartist lifeart showart

well, it seems this blogging stuff is just something I can do on the sidelines of the insanity here - nonetheless, for right now, I'm back, so here's a short update inbetween the pages of mayhem:

• the kitchen:

with the help of Uli & Tassilo (some german friends that are visiting here this summer), we managed to remove the upper cabinets of our kitchen, move some waterpipes, and paint the kitchen in anticipation of the arrival of our new cabinets.

For now, we're still waiting on the soapstone for the countertops, so until they ship their part of the construction, everything else is on hold. Makes cooking a bit of a camping trip - nothing is in it's place...but it's alright, I kind of enjoy the scaled down version of stuff in the cabinets. And it makes cleaning up quite a bit faster.

• the studio:

one would think that having the kids back in school would immediately free up time to paint - I think they sneaked some of my time into their bookbags when they left, since mine seems to have diminished instead.

There were some sheep waiting to be painted though, so I did manage three smallish paintings last week. One of them is something I've been itching to paint, ever since I did the sketch for it: BaaatMaaah. (sorry, no pix at this time)

And, because times are dire for so many, just a bit of encouragement from the sheep that have figured out a way to "Make Ends Meet".

• the art shows:

right now we have a break - our last show was the Lazy Daze in Cary, NC, which was great fun, perfect weather, and lots, and lots of great people that gave some sheep a new home.

On the upside of things, the sheep were accepted into the Saint James Court show in Louisville, KY. Which had the unpleasant side-effect of forcing us to cancel one of our favorite shows, the Norcross Art Fest in GA - we just can't manage two large shows at one time, and we had already cancelled our other Atlanta area shows, so we unfortunately had to back out of the Norcross show.

My updated show schedule can be found at http://www.charisma-art.com/art_show_schedule/

That's the fast-track post of the day...maybe more later, when I've had breakfast (my mom is fixing Blueberry pancakes - those can't wait for me)
