Sheep Incognito Blog

Off We Goooo! The sheep have finally found a voice - a smorgasblog of mutton so-to-speak. So come along for a rather bumpy, slightly whacky and always (well, hopefully) entertaining ride through the realm of sheep. Of course, blogs are the new cafe-connections of the net - drop me a line, share your thoughts, or just be a silent observer. Don't spill the coffee on the sheep though, they shrink ...

Turtle update

Posted by Conni Togel in woolWIPweirdturtlestudiospinningsocializingpratchettpaintingslivinglife lessonslifehappinessgicleefine artfiberdiscworldartist life

Just a short update on "Bentley, the turtle" - after the kids got to say good-bye to him before school this morning, he must have decided it's time to move on...when I got up around 8, he had vanished from the fenced area we had put him in.

We have a large yard (about an acre, 80% fenced) surrounded by fields/meadow (about 4.5 acres worth). The fence is one he can't possibly fit through, the only exit it the one down by the road, and we don't have much vegetation in the yard...

He must have been VERY homesick indeed (can't blame him - sheesh, wish he had taken me with him).

So, back to the Pratchettness of things: perhaps the eagle picked him up and dropped him somewhere else -or perhaps he's decided to dig a hole and drop dead in there. Who knows?

In the studio, today was a day of embellishing giclee prints - 10 of which will be going to the Columbia Hospital, neonatal ward.  I also continued on some smaller pieces I've been working on for the next shows, along with a larger piece for a customer of mine.

As a bit of a break from the usual, I spent some time at my parents' house carding wool on my new drum carder - what a genius invention that thing is. It makes spinning much more efficient and fun, so it was worth every penny paid for it.  Now, all I need is an outlet for all the yarn we've spun...if you're interested, just let me know.
