In case you were wondering why this isn't being updated daily - it's because daily life requires a certain amount of time from the allotted 24hours per day each of us are granted. And as such, sometimes real life does need a bit more attention than what I have left at the end of those 24hours.
Nothing unusual happening, really. Just normal life things:
• a Teenie getting ready for her first formal of high school
• which happened to coincide with the weekend of my first outdoor show of the season
• which also was the first show I did without the help of the "Art Pimp" in attendance
• which also happened to be the first outdoor show where it rained all day the first day.
• then of course, the day after that is when the other kid must be at school at some heathenly hour for an excursion to a science camp
The show was fun though - even with the rain, Pendleton Spring Jubilee is still a good art show to be. The people are great, the crowds were there, and the atmosphere very relaxing. One of the better shows I've seen over the past year, really. The quality of work shown there was a lot better than some of the things I've seen at some of the big-name shows, so I'll be back there next year if I can.
Some good news came the day before the show:
We've been accepted to the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival ! So now we are feverishly trying to get our act together to have enough sheepish things to sell for that event. From numerous comments from Sheep Incognito visitors, we think we might just be in for complete mayhem there - many of them have been vendors there, and from what they describe, we'll most likely not have enough inventory, no matter how full our trailer is packed. Which of course, would be a wonderful thing...it would help us pay for the new kitchen our good friend Steve Mis building for us, and hopefully leave enough left over to finally get my studio insulated and working.
The kids will be our art elves while there - they've all been learning how to be a good roadie at the Gilmore shows, so they are seasoned pro's now.
But before we get to travel to Maryland, there are two other shows to do first:
one in Alabama, and one in Alpharetta (another one of my favorite shows).
So for now, this is the update - and feel free to ask or comment, I do read and respond, even if I haven't posted lately.
