Sheep Incognito Blog

Off We Goooo! The sheep have finally found a voice - a smorgasblog of mutton so-to-speak. So come along for a rather bumpy, slightly whacky and always (well, hopefully) entertaining ride through the realm of sheep. Of course, blogs are the new cafe-connections of the net - drop me a line, share your thoughts, or just be a silent observer. Don't spill the coffee on the sheep though, they shrink ...

Gatlinburg Fine Art Festival tomorrow

Posted by Conni Togel in weirdsocializingshoppinglivinglifehappyhappinessgermanyfriendsfine artblogart showart festivalart

We made it up the mountains to Gatlinburg today, just in time for a maaaahvelous VIP dinner hosted by various organisations here in town.

Meeting other artists of shows gone by is always the highlight of any art show for me, so this evening was very pleasant. We also made the aquaintance of some gentlemen from Dresden, Germany at our table - who happen to be aquainted with one of our best friends' father. Small, small world... (betcha you just started humming "it's a small world after all, it's a small world after all, it's a smal...." if you didn't at first, you probably are now, right? Works every time...)

Only our oldest daughter is accompaning us this time - which is nice, because we hardly get to spend time with her anymore. Fourteen year olds are just soooo busy nowadays, parents just don't fit into their schedules...

So we're just chillin' in the hotel, each of us on our laptop, answering emails, writing blog posts, and working - ah, the family times they are a'changin', it seems.

At least it's quiet, no bickering, and no shoes to trip over in the middle of the night tonight - so hopefully all that won't stop at four in the morning tomorrow, when we have to get up to go set up the booth tent for the show.

So for now, I'm off to bed - must sleep, so that the art pimp has a small chance at surviving tomorrow's first few hours (setup of booth tent is my very least favorite activity in the world - it runs right alongside cleaning kitty litterboxes, and middle of the night "mom, I think I need to throw up" events - so needless to say, tempers are short for setting up, and it's a very good thing that rolling pins and cast iron pans are not part of the setup here)

Enjoy your evening - drop me a line, or even better: stop by tomorrow or on Sunday. Our booth is right in front of Wendy's, so we might be able to meander over there for a shake and a chat...
