Sheep Incognito Blog

Off We Goooo! The sheep have finally found a voice - a smorgasblog of mutton so-to-speak. So come along for a rather bumpy, slightly whacky and always (well, hopefully) entertaining ride through the realm of sheep. Of course, blogs are the new cafe-connections of the net - drop me a line, share your thoughts, or just be a silent observer. Don't spill the coffee on the sheep though, they shrink ...

Finished! United We Stand

Posted by Conni Togel in WIPart showartangora2008 election

Finally the sheep has taken his place among his fluffy companions for a portrait - of course, being the rather obnoxious personality he is, he could not refrain from making a rather silly face for the picture. On the other hand, if you look deeper, you'll notice where the title for the painting originated - cramped into smallish spaces, filled with stuff and fluff, all different colors, sizes and noses, and degrees of fl00finess and yet, there they are, all together united.

Yep, they are living the american dream that a famous guy once had. Now, if only that really would happen in real life, we'd be much better off.

 Oh, almost forgot:

Yes, I do realize that the sheep is of a darker color and has a striking resemblance to Barack Obama (and yes, there most likely will be a painting going in that direction sometime soon) - just a little homage to the guy that's managed to email his way to the top of the race (good marketing is always impressive, no matter what the cause).

So there you have it, right from the Sheep:

United We Stand
Oil on gallery wrapped canvas, 30" x 40"

Today we head towards the Outer Banks for the Whalehead Club art show - a must be there type of event, in the middle of the week. If you happen to be in the area, or want a bit of island happiness, make sure you're there, it's going to be a great show, I've been told.

Let me hear your comments about the new piece - feedback is what inspires more Sheep Incognito happenings.

How nice to find that you are still making sheep connections, and I still love your tongue-in-sheep sense of humor! WONderful work....

Hi Debbie!!!
so nice to hear from you - haven't been able to keep up with anybody lately...I was wondering how you're doing. How are things in your neck of the woods?
Sheep is what is happening now - they have taken on a life of their own, somehow. People really seem to connect with them, and it is great to hear the giggles and laughs when people step into the booth. If nothing else, it gives them a smile - and heavens knows we need more of those in the world lately.

What are you up to? Hopefully still painting, right?

Admittely, I'm not much of a politics follower so I'm more of a "surface" sheep admire. I think these guys are adorable!
