Tomorrow my mom and I get to go be part of the Old Bowie Farm Reunion in Iva, SC, our first ever participating as spinners. We're of course bringing our wheels, some spun yarn, some roving and some raw wool, along with the Strauch Monster of a drum carder, to show folks what happens between the sheep and the finished felted socks.
My two younger kids are coming along to help card, sell, keep us occupied, and try to get ahold of one of the cows that should be there to get milked (molken? molked? milken? sheesh - it's been a looong day of allergy stuff - my brain died about 4 this afternoon).
Of course, the weather has decided to be a bit difficult - we're expecting close to 100ºF tomorrow, and I think we'll both just pass out under the tree there.
Unless of course, you have a better idea on how to avoid turning into a prune for the weekend - let's hear it!
The Parker Bowie farm is located near the Crescent High School on S.C. 81 South. There will be signs on S.C. 81 near the school and others on S.C. 24 and S.C. 187, directing people to the farm.
