I See Mutton in Your Future

Sheep tend to be a bit superstitious, and this one is no exception. I began painting I See Mutton in Your Future a short time after the start of the Iraq war. Watching the news, it became clear to me that this was not just a two-week interruption in our lives but rather an event that would wreak havoc on lives forever (mine included). The really scary part is how right I was. The really encouraging part is, no matter how dark the future looks, your eyes can adapt to the darkness and start finding light to see anyway. Despite the changes that have been thrown our way, there ARE good things to be found, and light to be seen – just keep looking. There might be dinner and a movie afterwards – mutton included.
