After many years of gradually picking up steam, the fiber artisans from the eastern half of North Carolina gathered together for the first Fiber Festival which was an offshoot of the NC AgFest in 2009.  The event took place at the State Fairground in Raleigh, NC.  There was an estimated attendance of 25,000.  It was an immediate success.  Many people have requested there be one annually, so 2010 will be the 2nd annual Carolina Fiber Festival, again part of the NC AgFest.  This year the space provided will be double the area of the first year.  We are anticipating some people bringing animals so people can see animals that provide fibers we use.

Hours for Carolina Fiber Fest:
Friday from 10 am until 8 pm
Saturday from 10 am until 8 pm
Sunday from 10 am until 6 pm

The Carolina Fiber Fest is part of NC AgFest.  It will be located in the Gov. James E. Holshouser building at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds.  It is located inside the fairgrounds and can be accessed from any open gates.  The best gate is gate 9.  Turn from Blue ridge Road onto Trinity Road.  After entering gate 9, follow paved street to the right.
