Today was a day of eyeballs glued to Mac screens - our house is filled with geeks, from the youngest to the oldest. Being the only one bored with staring at the screen, I took off to my parents' house for a bit of things more inspiring to do. So the afternoon was spent drinking coffee , spinning, drinking coffee, fixing Dad's Skype preferences, having lunch, drinking more coffee, spinning some more, sweeping the garage, and spinning a bit more...so, if this is a bit of a rattleheaded post, now you know why (you should have seen how fast I'm typing, ha!). So, technically not a very productive day - though for me a very nice time of creating beyond the canvas and beyond the paintings . It helps to get some new input, in whatever shape or form it comes in, that might come in handy when I'm at the easel. I often get asked where my ideas come from - it's days like this that help me recharge and give my paintings new twists (you really never know when you have to paint a sheep sweeping a garage floor). And, because I managed to find blue Koolaid yesterday, I threw in a bit of color (which as you know, many painters can't live without) - and dyed two small skeins of single spun Cotswold and Tunis wool a nice light robin's egg blue. Here's a shot of the pot (hey, now I'm a poet, too!):
It's actually a bit darker than what you see here - seems like any changes I make in Photoshop to the colors show up differently here on my blog...bummer. I'll post more photos when it's dry, that will probably be a bit nicer to look at than something resembling moldy blue spaghetti. Sooo - Sat-erday it was - and it was all good. Enjoy your Sunday tomorrow - I'll be taking a family day with lunch at my parent's house and more of the coffee stuff. Sheesh, I'm starting to sound like a caffeine junky...
