See - what I was going to tell you a few days ago, is that it's really hard to blog without being interrupted - so after the 500th interruption of the 50th interruption, here I am again, bringing you some new Sheep Incognito Excursions Into the Insane: With all the interruptions going on, it's been rather impossible to even contemplate working in the studio - so I took my easel and palette on the road with me. Believe it or not, sitting at the shows to paint is about as quiet as it gets at the moment - so at my recent show at the Richmond, VA Craftsmen's Spring Classics, I pulled out my travel easel (which, btw. is a piece of carp...I'd rather nail the canvas to the floor to paint on than use that junk again) and my acrylics (which I have been using quite a bit lately, because they transport well and dry fast), set up my chair and started sketching out some new work. I was actually able to finish three !!! paintings over the three days we were there. So, without further ado, here they are: Title: Silent Night Size: 10" x 14" Media: Acrylic on Canvas available - click here for purchase information Title: Tiki Baaa Size: 14" x 18" Media: Acrylic on Canvas Available - click here for purchase information My favorite is probably the Silent Night one, not neccessarily because of the execution of it, but I thought the idea of the corncobs in the ears was funny...wish I had some while my kids were little, sure could have used them (and, probably would have avoided all the gray hair, too...). The Tiki Baaa title just sounded cool - so it had to be the hula sheep with coconuts - can't do a tiki baaa without 'em... The Sheep Ladies out front are quite content at the moment - it's not so cold that they have to hide in the barn, but not hot enough for them to want to get nekkid yet. They spend quite a bit of time out front, so you might actually get a glimpse of them if you look at the right time - here is the webcam on seesheep.com This weekend we are headed North - to Chantilly, VA for another Craftsmen's Classics Show. If you haven't been to one of those Arts & Crafts Shows yet, this is your chance to see some great artisans, artists and yep, see the Sheep Incognito in person - they really do take on a life of their own when you see them up close. Mention this blog post, and we'll give you a 15% discount on purchases of $50 or more...any looney kids you see running around there are probably mine...all three get to go along for the ride. We will be trying to get to the National Zoo in Washington while we're there - the kids have been begging to go see the Pandas, so maybe we'll work that in as well, probably on Friday - but one of us will be at the Booth in any case...so stop on by, it would be fun to meet you! The show runs from Friday, 10 am- 8pm, Saturday 10 am-6 pm and Sunday, 11 am- 5 pm at the Craftsmen's Classic Arts & Crafts Festival March 28 - March 30, 2008 Dulles Expo Center, South Hall 4320 Chantilly Shopping Center, Chantilly, VA 20153 For other shows, just check my show schedule here (opens in new window)

I could walk to the Dulles Expo center from where I work. Expect to see me, Gina and my twins there. We have been soooo much looking forward to seeing some sheep paintings up close.
The new paintings are very witty btw.
